Happy Mother’s Day!

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.
- Howard Johnson

Since birth, you were the only one
who could know me the way you do.
No one (other than God)
is more interested in me
than you are.
I love you so much
and decided to make you a poem.

Here's a little poem:

You held me since birth
and you knew my worth.

No person can know me the way you do.
You continued loving me as I grew.

Despite the pains and stresses that come with kids,
you still treated me like I was an important bid.

You nurture, love and teach.
Yet you have to give the same speech.

How I need to stop wasting my life and look to the future.
You want me to achieve my goals and not be a loser.

How I'm so talented and God has given me gifts.
I should use them to the BEST of my ability and stop falling off cliffs.

Falling short of what I could be, and what I could achieve.
Oh how I lose sight of that and I misconceive.

I misconceive your intentions and your motives.
The result is a lot of mixed unappealing emotions.

Oh how many times you have to hear the words, "You don't understand!"
When really you do and it is I who misunderstands.

It will take me a while before I learn the truth.
And sometime when I'm older, I'll venture to the fountain of youth.

To remember what it was like when I was young.
When I was so ignorant and how much I stung.

I could say many times "I'm sorry", and mean it,
But I need to start changing my actions, every little bit.

I know with all my heart that you love me,
You're sweet and kind, and you're my queen.

Your love reminds me of God's love, how he still loves me
even when I fail Him, ignore Him and sometimes don't see.

Everyday I pray that I will obey and listen and understand,
And that I will help make your days easier to stand.

But today, my dearest mother, with all the love in the world, I really want to say
that I thank the LORD that you are my mother and wish you a
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
