Fifteen Years

In just four days, i’ll be turning 15. 

That means that i’m a whole fifteen years into my life. 

As I look back at the many things that have happened in those 15 years 

that have gotten me to this point,

I can’t help but thank the almighty and loving God for helping me 

through the winding roads of life

and the slippery slopes of the mountain of faith.

The challenges,

the heart-breakings,

the mistakes,

the lies,

the disobeying,

the anger,

the peace,

the overwhelming joy, 

the love,

the grace,

the kindness,

and many more of these come in the package of life. 

I have experienced all of these in my past 15 years.

I can say that I have experienced them in a year.

But the one thing that many haven’t experienced, 

and that I am so grateful to experience,

is the belonging to the Lord, 

I am his child,

his loved one,

his once-lost sheep.

He had found me 10 years ago,

and had mended my lost heart and made me new.

I was nothing, but he gave me a title,

I am His and forever His I will be.

He takes my wounds and heals them with the touch of his words.

He tells me that I am not alone when I feel like no one cares.

He gives me peace in my times of anger and reminds me that evil is the result of anger.

And that all evil is the work of Satan.

He tells me that there’s is a larger plan at work when I think things are just falling apart.

He is my joy,

he is my life,

he is my peacemaker

he is LOVE,

he gives me rest when i’m restless,

he is my calmer,

he gives me hope,

he gives me a purpose and reason

he is my father,

he is my GOD.
