I was at a grade retreat at a Christian camp with my school and I went to a prayer workshop and read one of David’s Psalms. Then they asked us to write one of our own. I thought this was a really good idea because you can write about what you’re struggling with and how the LORD can help you through that. You can also add what the LORD has helped you through and praise Him for it. Then when you’re done writing it, you can reflect upon it everyday or whenever you’re struggling and be encouraged. You can pray it everyday or you can just use it as praise. I think it’s a great idea and encourage you to make your own Psalm!
Anny’s Psalm
After all You've done
for me,
I should not hold
anything back.
What I have is Yours
from the start,
So I should not
treasure them
as if they are my
own.
At times of
conflict and shallowness,
I shall remember Your
sacrifice
and how undeserving I
am.
How foolish am I to
hold on to things in my life
when You promise to
provide more?
May others laugh at
me and rebuke me for
being Yours.
They hated You first,
let them hate me
next.
It's hard to allow
it,
but you give me
strength.
LORD you are my help.
I shall rejoice for the
life that I have found in you.
It is far greater and
richer than any life others may seek.
O LORD teach me to
surrender all to you.
And to live not for
this life, but for the one to come.
Hello Anny. so good to stop by your blog and the post on it of dated 26th September of your own psalm. Beautifully composed. May the Lord help you to compose many more Psalms as you continue to grow in God's presence.
ReplyDeleteWell I did write my comment below your self information (About me) and had invited you to come to Mumbai on a short term missions trip to work with us in the slums of Mumbai reaching out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ. I did visit Calgay, Canada in the month of July but stayed there only for three days as I had to leave to Mumbai, India for some urgent matter to be attended. My son who got married just a year back is settled with his wife in Calgary, Canada. He is also musician and sings and plays guitar and key board. He works for Mustered Seed a christian Organisation involved in ministry to the Drugs addicts and Homeless. I am in the PASTORAL Ministry in this city for last 33 yrs. We do have teams of young people coming for the West on a short term missions trip to work with us. Those who have come have had life changing experience. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede
Hi! Yes, I have seen your comments and greatly appreciate them. As much as I would love to come and help with your ministry, it is terribly inconvenient for me. But I do wish you the LORD’s blessings in your work and that you will continue glorifying Him in all that you do. Thank you for your kindness and invitation. :)
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Anny
